Using a Survey Template

Guide on leveraging KnoCommerce's expert curated survey templates.

Overview

Kick off your Kno survey quickly using our pre-built templates to start collecting insights fast. In this guide, we'll review the handful of steps needed to start using KnoCommerce templates today.


Set up Guide

Step 1: Create a survey

Navigate to our Surveys page and click '+ Create survey"

Step 2: Select the template option

On the next page, you'll have the option to either start from scratch, or select one of our preexisting templates. Click on "Continue with a template":

Select from any of our curated templates to get started:


Editing Surveys

Once you add the survey template, we recommend going through the questions to make sure all responses are applicable to your brand.

You can edit responses to suit your brand, delete questions that aren't relevant at all, or add questions using the Question Library or the default questions to create your own:

One bonus of using survey templates is that any questions that are also shared with our Benchmarks feature will automatically be added to the reporting.


Best Practices

Most brands get started with an attribution survey. This can be a simple three-question survey for Starter Plans or a 10+ question survey for paid plans. Here are some suggestions:

  • Simple attribution (Starter Plan) - Simplest and most helpful attribution survey for brands using this plan with first-touch attribution, last-touch attribution, and consideration window/time-to-purchase

  • 2024 New Customer Survey - Great for paid plans looking to go deeper. Includes same questions as Simple Attribution, but asks several followup attribution questions as well as purchase recipient, purchasing experience, and product research/development

  • 2024 Returning Customer Survey - The next level of surveying goes beyond first-time purchasers and attribution questions and asks an NPS question and purchase barrier questions as well
